This is our test method video! If it doesn't work, you can press the button that says Youtube :D below the video. If you don't hear our voices or you don't want to watch the video, there are steps of the test method on the right side of this page.

Test Method

1. First, you have to label 1,2,3, and 4 on four plastic cups by using sticky notes.

2. Pour 5 ml of baking soda into the first cup and after you have done that, pour 50 ml of water into the cup.

3. Then stir the mixture with a craft-stick. Make sure that you stir it well because we don't want the crystal to be ruined.

4. Pour 5ml of salt into the second cup. Then add 50 ml of water again but into the second cup instead.

5. Stir the mixture well.

6. Pour 5 ml of calcium chloride into the third cup and then pour 50 ml of water into the cup.

7. Stir it well again.

8. Pour 5 ml of citric acid into the fourth cup (the last cup). Then pour 50 ml of water into the cup.

9. Stir the mixture.

10.  On sticky notes, write calcium chloride, salt,  baking soda and citric acid.

11. Spread the sticky notes on a tray.

12. Then put all 4 sticky notes on four petri dishes.

13.  Pour the mixtures into the dish they match in. For example, cup 1 which is baking soda, goes in the petri dish that is over the sticky note baking soda.

14. Leave the tray in sunlight so it can evaporate.

15. Wait for about 5 days for the mixtures to evaporate. When they have finish evaporating, you will see that the mixtures have transformed into crystals.
